Julia Werner is an accomplished and experienced counsellor working with children, adolescents, couples, and families who bring a wide range of themes and challenges to her counselling room. In practice for more than 15 years, she is a clinical member of the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia, the Gestalt Association Australia and New Zealand, and the Association for Couple Counselling.
Julia brings an attitude of respect to her clients’ unique life experience and a curiosity about their world and what really matters to them. Julia aims to understand her clients without making judgements; she explores and thinks with them with empathy and helps to develop awareness for new and more beneficial perspectives to her clients’ lives and relationships. Julia offers her clients an opportunity to explore what their most desirable version of life is and the issues that have gotten in the way and what is needed to overcome them.
She believes that change will occur when we accept who we currently are and that only full honesty allows a client to understand clearly what is needed to be able to move forward and establish long-term change. Julia expands her therapeutic work with other counselling approaches such as trauma-Informed Therapy, Gestalt based couple and family therapy or Acceptance and Commitment therapy.
